A PhD student doing research in hardware support for security @ UIUC.

In brief

My name is Mengjia Yan. I’m a fifth-year PhD student in the Computer Science Department at UIUC, where I work with Professor Josep Torrellas in the i-acoma group. My research focuses on hardware support for security. I’m currently interested in developing efficient defense and detection approaches towards side/covert channel attacks.

I grew up in China, where I obtained my Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang University in 2013.
